Dear Mr. PJ,
Once a FIR is filed you need to take bail from the court on arrest or prior to arrest, which is anticipatory bail.
Normally in Criminal cases, no intimation is sent to the accused persons after registration of FIR, there may be some mediation or settlement talk the police or other officials, prior to the registration of FIR but not after registration.
It actually vary from the state to state procedure adopted by the police. Once you obtain bail from the court, you are free to contest the case on the merits of the case.
