What is the main reason for significant increase of divorce cases in India in the last decade especially in metro cities?

Women are becoming financially independent. Hence they no longer look at their husbands as the provider. This feeling dilutes their respect for their husbands which in turn causes ego clash resulting in divorce.

The attitude of women's parents have changed drastically. Even after her marriage, they continue to interfere in her personal and matrimonial matters. This causes irritation to husband and his family leading to divorce.
