Title: can i apply for patent for websites
Post by: manishsqrt on May 10, 2015, 08:36:25 PM
I know that websites are generally protected under copyright law, but if i have developed some new idea would it be patented, i am asking because i have heard that google has patented its search engine, so what kind of patent protects software, is it process patent or some thing else, and what is the method to file such patents in India, what document would i need, software s are generally codes so how would the patent officer check for the core methodology, is it like only algorithms are patented. Please suggest.

No, you can not patent a website. You can only copyright the website content.
