During the commission of a crime, the offender may leave behind fingerprints, hair, blood, fibres, skin cells, footprints, tool marks, or DNA. During examination, Locard scraped material from beneath Gourbin&#8217;s fingernails and discovered traces of a unique pink face powder. By carefully identifying, preserving, and analysing trace evidence, investigators can reconstruct events, identify offenders, and ensure that justice is supported by scientific truth rather than speculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As forensic scientist Paul L.
