What has to be proved for female feticide is that it has been done in contravention of the MTP Act and that it was done after determination and disclosure of the sex of the fetus, which is a crime under the PCPNDT Act. The sonologist thus become liable to be prosecuted for aggravated cause of feticide though he did not himself commit the act of feticide.
