It refers to the structured use of several categories of public record:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Procedural data<\/strong> \u2014 admission, dismissal, transfer, interim relief, and final disposal outcomes recorded in orders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Timeline data<\/strong> \u2014 filing dates, listing dates, and the gap between institution and disposal for a category of matters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registry data<\/strong> \u2014 the kinds of defects the Supreme Court Registry commonly flags during scrutiny before a matter is even listed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limitation data<\/strong> \u2014 how the Court has applied the statutory limitation period and the &#8220;sufficient cause&#8221; standard for condonation of delay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of these is drawn from the court&#8217;s own record-keeping, not from a third-party estimate. The Court declined to condone the delay, holding that there was no due diligence in pursuing the matter and upholding the High Court&#8217;s refusal. The Supreme Court&#8217;s Centre for Research and Planning has documented that an AI-based e-filing scrutiny tool, piloted with IIT Madras, is now used to detect such defects at the point of filing, rather than only after manual registry review.
