Fresh applications in Just Rights for Children Alliance v. S. Harish, a case the Supreme Court had decided in September 2024 (2024 INSC 716), led to a detailed order on 15 October 2026, reported as 2026 INSC 1149.[1][2] Most public discussion has been about the technology. My purpose is narrower: to explain, in plain terms, how the National Hash and URL List Database that the order proposes would sit on top of duties already found in the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act), and what this may mean for an ordinary user and for a small platform. The case remains pending, with 10 December 2026 as the next date. So I confine my comments to what the order itself records.<\/p>
