Sovereign States enjoy fundamental rights of independence, sovereignty, equality and territorial integrity. These rights are balanced by corresponding duties of non-intervention, peaceful dispute settlement, non-use of force and good-faith fulfilment of international obligations. This balance is essential for the maintenance of international peace, security and orderly cooperation among States.

Statehood and Recognition: Contemporary Issues in International Law

The Fading Horizon: Is International Law ‘Real’ Law or Just a Vanishing Point?

Bridging the Laboratory and the Courtroom: The Role of Forensic Expert Witnesses in the Administration of Justice

Understanding the State: Definition, Essential Elements, and Kinds of States

The Architecture of Sovereignty: A Comprehensive Analysis of Recognition under International

Introduction A state is the primary subject of international law.
