I am a first-year student of law at KIIT School of Law at Bhubaneshwar
in Odisha. Born in a Bengali middle-class family in Durgapur, West Bengal, I
completed my secondary education at St. Peter's School and did my plus 2 from
DAV Model School. Having passed both my secondary and higher secondary
examinations with, what my teachers labeled as, 'flying colors', it was time for
me to decide my path ahead.
Having been an avid writer and debater cum public speaker through my years in
school, it was a toss-up for me between the streams of journalism and law. Not
having been sure of my aspirations throughout my life, it took a few days of
continual 'soul-searching' for me to comfortably settle for the latter.
Once in law school, I got an opportunity to revive my old love for writing, and
I got my very first legal article published in Legal Service India, the one for
which I'm writing this mail. I had always wanted to do something for animals,
and in March I started my first legal blog on animal rights called 'BrightPaws'.
I plan on writing a lot more articles, both academic and non-academic, and
getting them published in e-journals like Legal Service India and others.
