Salute To CAA

On 12th dec 2019, Ram Nath Kovind (Presiddent of India) gave his assent to Citizenship Amendment Act 2019. The bill was passed by Lok Sabha with 311 members in favour and 80 in against. Subsequently, in Rajya Sabha 125 votes are in favour whereas 99 votes in against.

Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 amends Citizenship Act 1955 which laid down some methods for acquisition of Citizenship. Citizenship can be acquired by 5 methods:
  1. By Birth
  2. By Decent
  3. By Registration
  4. By Naturalisation
  5. By Incorporation of Territory
Here CAA seeks to amend time period of Naturalisation.

CAA states, Citizenship of India will be granted to 6 Non-Muslim Community i.e. Hindu, Sikh, Christain, Parsi, Jain, Buddhist who had illegal immigrant from these three countries i.e. Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan. CAA doesn't contain any provision which is related to Muslim Community which means there is nothing that can hurt emotions of Muslim Community.

These 6 Community can acquire Citizenship of India by Naturalisation which is reduced the requirement of residing in India from 11 years to 5 years. That means those Communities will be Citizen of India if they reside here from on or before 31st dec 2014.

There are 4 conditions for acquiring Citizenship:

  1. They must be Sikh, Hindu, Prasi, Chriatain, Buddhist, Jain
  2. They must came from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan
  3. They must reside here on or before 31st dec 2014
  4. There is exemption in tribal areas (6th schedule) won't apply to Assam ( but in some parts CAA will apply), Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura and Inner Line Permit areas in Arunchal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram with Manipura in these states this act wouldn't apply.

The protestors are protesting as this act doesn't include Muslim Community and Prosecution of Non-Muslim i.e. Shia Muslim & Ahmadiyya in pakistan, Tamils in Sri Lanka, Rohingyas in Myanmar and Madhesis in Nepal. Further they are protesting for violation of article 14 which provides Equality & Constitution doesn't uphold any discrimination on the basis of Religion.

The purpose of this Amendment Act is, In Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan where Religion is superior for them. They harass and do heinous crime to Non-Muslim Community such as, murder of children, rape of women, distrait of property and so on.

And thats the reason they ran to their own country and found shelter in our country. For helping these Community Govt. has made this Amendment Act. Moreover, they are residing in our country for many years if India won't provide them Citizenship then where will they go?

In a country where they will be murder, rape? We should think about them also as they are also HUMAN BEINGS. Even Amit Shah ( Home Minister) also said, There is no treat for Indian Muslims. In addition, Shah Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid who himself belong to Muslim Communiy says Citizenship Amendment Act has nothing to do with Muslims living in India.
