Abstract Education is both a human right and a tool of social transformation. In India, the struggle for universalizing education has been long and complex, influenced by historical inequalities and socio-economic disparities. The enactment of The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (commonly known as the RTE Act) was a landmark development, marking the first time education became a fundamental right for children between the ages of six and fourteen.
