Swapana Pramod Kode is a Mumbai based Criminal-Lawyer, successfully practicing as a Defense Criminal Counsel in the Mumbai High Court and with an overall professional experience of 18 years. Adv Swapna Kode provides legal consultancy & advisory services and has been dealing in various challenging criminal matters. She has a long list of clients making the who’s who of the city and has successfully helped them getting ‘Acquittals’ for being implicated in false cases. Ex Municipal Commissioner Jairaj Pathak and Pradeep Vyas the Collector of Mumbai both who were, implicated in the Adarsh Scam and were bailed out by Kode. Apart from this she has got an acquittal for Dr Tatya Rao Lahane of JJ Hospital with respect to the casteist slur case or TV Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar to name some. She has also appeared for 108 students of Mithibai College who were debarred from appearing for examination due to low attendance. Recently she filed a Writ Petition in the Mumbai High court to fulfill a dying man wishes to pray to his ancestral God as he was oust from his house by his daughter in law under the senior citizens Act. Daughter of the well-known Retd Justice Pramod Dattaram Kode, Swapna followed her dream to become a lawyer. Completing her Junior College from the K.C. College, Churchgate to pursue law she joined Government Law College, Mumbai. Along with LLB she was doing CA, but it was not feasible to pursue both the Professional courses as most of the times exam timings were to clash, and so she continued studies with graduation in Law. After completing her LLB from Government Law College in 2007 she joined the Chambers of Senior Advocate Ashok Mundargi as she had keen interest in Practicing Criminal Law. She has completed her Masters and Post Graduate Diplomas from the Mumbai University. She has completed diploma in Hinduism from Harvard University. She has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Law and alternate dispute management. She is a member of the probe committee of Sexual harassment of the E.S.I.S State Government Hospital, Mumbai. She is currently doing her Masters in Constitution from Mumbai University. Having already handled a variety of cases, apart from being successful Swapana is also quite active and is working for various social causes; be it teaching street kids or creating legal awareness especially among ladies. She was associated with an NGO Angel Xpress and was teaching street children from 2009 to 2013. She has actively worked with Mentor Me India and Mentored children for their academic accreditation. She has also set up a legal help center called Darshana a legal guide that provides free legal assistance with its branches across Mumbai, Thane Dombivali, and Jalna to people in the remote areas of Maharashtra. Through her legal acumen she has helped 250 women achieve their rights free of cost. Currently she is working on to have the Advocates Protection Bill passed. Following it up she has made the representation to the Maharashtra Government and further has met the Law Secretary, and the proposal is now sent to the authority for final considerations. Adv. Swapana Kode has been conferred the youngest achievers award by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation for her achievements in 2018 at the hands of Dr Rani Bang renowned socialist followed by Lokmat life style icon for 2020 ,Lokmat Woman Achiever 2021, AWW Social Activist of 2021 and Indian Diva Award 2022 and Lokmat The Great Legal Mind 2023.
