“bache sheher se nikal jaate h par sheher bacho se kabhi nhi nikal pata”
In today’s world, everyone is in their own race to achieve their goal. As a student myself has experienced the pressure of getting good grades, becoming “school prefect”, being good in sports, getting rank in single or double digit, securing government college, cracking internships, so on the list is.
This culture of making children becoming students is getting wild day by day. Parents are forcing their kids getting better and better without observing what really their child wants. This culture of competition is now being created by “COACHINGS”.
There are different hubs like KOTA is famous for NEET and JEE, DELHI is UPSC hub and many other too. But these two cities has their own popularity. Many students from remote areas shift their lives for a single exam in the hope for better future.
There used to be a time where coaching hubs are only established for teaching but today education is being commercialized. Whether it is Kota or Delhi, every coaching is in race to produce rankers. Big hoardings, hefty fees, crowded areas, small rooms, hefty rent is now the reality of these cities.
Coaching centers are in their own race and this is effecting our education system where education has now become business.
Almost every year we come across suicide news in Kota, kids around age of 16 to 21 are taking these steps without acknowledging the real scenarios. Coaching are now converted into pressure cooker, where they only care about their own benefit and no other child life matters to them.
Depression, anxiety, panic attacks are becoming common among the age 18-21 years old. I do agree that competitive exams do create pressure on students but it is the responsibility of the state to provide better environment to the students.
In such tender age, they have to manage their studies, living condition, room rent, safety etc. The recent case in Delhi of negligence shows the reality of condition of students.
On 27th July, the water flooded into the basement of Rau IAS coaching and guess what, in the basement where there is no ventilation, no windows, a huge library was set up by the coaching administration for the students. Due to heavy rainfall, the water entered into the basement, the condition get this much worse that divers had to come for rescue but unfortunately, 3 UPSC aspirants died in that incident.
This case was a clear example that coaching mafias are just for extorting money, they don’t care about any of the student’s life. The living condition of UPSC hub — Old Rajinder Nagar — is worst. The rooms are congested, no ventilation and for these type of rooms, students have to pay hefty rent.
Sadly, this is the condition of our India’s youth future.
Now I let you conclude, which one is better — Coaching hub or gas chamber?
