Pension Account Nomination
« on: November 21, 2014, 08:37:54 AM »
Hello! My 65 year old mother has just found out that my father has had 2 mistresses for several years now. My mother is his legal wedded wife. My mother was nominated to his pension bank account until recently. He has changed the nomination to his mistress #1's adult son. Does my mother have any legal right to his pension account? My mother has no source of income.

Thank you for your help.

After the death of your father his legally wedded wife solely has legal right over family pension.

Thank you. The bank nomination form shows mistresses son as "foster son" as the new nominee. We don't know if my father has legally adopted the mistresses son who is 30 years old or if they've simply used the words "foster son" on the bank form. Mistresses son is not my fathers biological son. My brother is his biological son.

Does this change my mothers legal right?
