Law Regarding Mistresses
« on: November 21, 2014, 08:48:05 AM »
Is it legal for a wedded man in India to keep mistresses?

We have just discovered our 65 year old father has had 2 mistresses for several years now and he plans to distribute his properties and pension bank account among the mistresses and refuses to support my mother.

Thank you.

There are no laws in India that support mistress.

regarding your father distributing his movable and immovable property to his friends that he can do.

now for your mother she has a right to maintenance and right to residence.

if she is suspecting that she will be denied both, than she should file in court for right to maintenance and right to residence.

do this quickly

Thank you so much. Yes, he is trying to kick her out of her home by threatening her and does not plan to support her.
