Not being relieved from the company!
« on: January 22, 2015, 01:45:18 PM »
Hello, I work for a company in Noida. When I joined here I signed their offer letter stating that I will have to give a notice period of 15 days or pay 15 days of salary to the company to avoid serving the notice period. However, after a few months the notice period was increased to 2 months which was notified via email to every employee of the company. Now, I got an offer letter from a top MNC who needs me to join on an urgent basis so I sent a resignation email to the HR stating that I need to leave on an urgent basis so please inform me about the separation process or let me know the amount I need to pay. Now, I am not even being given the option to buy out the notice period. They are forcing me to serve the notice period for 2 months else they will not give me my relieving letter. I told them that my offer from the MNC will not be valid after two months, so what is the point of serving the notice period? Am I supposed to work for this company for my entire life and never look out for better career  opportunities? Let me give you a brief idea about the company, it is a company with about 20-25 employees owned by an NRI who stays in New Jersey. The whole and sole command of these people is in the hands of a lady who is the only HR and the administrative staff in the office. She also crossed the line when she CC'D her response of my resignation email to the HR of the MNC from which I received the offer letter......   ANY SUGGESTION WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
