TamilNadu State Government Employee called for enquiry
« on: July 06, 2015, 12:48:55 AM »
I am from Tamil Nadu. Please help me with the below question.

A state government employee from tamil nadu who is a senior had approved many cheques by mistake as 5 of their lower employees has already signed it before coming to him. The Senior employee did not do it on purpose or for his own benefit. But by mistake when the count was more. Now all the six has been called for enquiry by government. The senior employee is 60 and is retired. He did not get all of his retirement benefits due to this and now called for enquiry. The senior employee has accepted that he did it by mistake. He has never got bribery in his whole career but have been caught here since he didn't verify all cheques. I dont justify it. but he didn't use it for the own purpose and government knows about it. Now what would be the action taken against the 60 year old. Is there any chances to have positive action.

The action taken is left to the discretion of the management and dependent on the report submitted by the enquiry officer. Due to his unblemished service, if he is lucky he will escape with little punishment. If he is unlucky some of his benefits may be cut down as punishment. Now a days only capitalistic approach is preferred over socialistic, my worst fear is there is a possibility of cutting down all the benefits.
