Time Frame for Divorce
« on: July 29, 2015, 03:12:24 AM »
I am 29 yrs female. Ours was inter-caste registered love marriage 5 years back. We don't have kids. I and my husband applied for Mutual  Divorce in Mangalore Court in  1st week January of 2015. I haven't asked  for any type of Alimony or Maintenance. It was told that the divorce will be completed on next date that is for Evidence on 8th July 2015. On that day judge asked both of us if we want to continue and  we told no. then he given next day that was 17 July 2015. After 17th when ever I call my lawyer they keep on saying judge didn't sign and recently told wait 15 days to get certificate. Opposite party lawyer told judgement is passed.  As I had heard from others, Mutual divorce takes only 6 months, but now its extending to 8th month, I am not at all aware how long its going to  take? Please help me to know about the process.

Between this I have got a proposal and the guy is working in abroad. He wants to get married to me early and move to abroad. Is it possible to  get married after the judgement  is passed and without waiting for the  divorce certificate? Please assist me in this, it will be great help. Thank You!

when both parties agree to a divorce, than the court has no choice but to grant divorce.

what is happening in your case is unfortunate, I too never heard of such unnecessary delay.

what is the next date of hearing

Thank You for the Suggestion. After seeing your reply I called my advocate and he had asked me to come on Tuesday  to collect certificates.
