Bank has allotted Insurance without informaing me.
« on: August 06, 2015, 10:31:34 AM »
I have a home loan in UBI.
Today I've seen that an amount of 6.8k has debited from my linked saving account. Upon inquiry I came to know that an Insurance policy has been allotted against my home loan and the amount is the first premium and premium will be charged once in every 5 years.
Can bank allocate some insurance without my consent? I don't need this insurance where I even don't know what insurance I've been allotted.
So could you please advice what should I do or what can I do to get back my money and get rid of the insurance?
Thank You.

As per your statement, it is a glaring example of Unfair Trade Practice of the concern bank and you have good case to fight against the bank. First you have to serve a notice giving an opportunity the bank to credit the said debited money from your account with interest @ 12% till credited within Seven days. The notice should be serve to the bank via Speed/ Registered Post with Acknowledge Due. If the bank fails to refund/ credit the said money then you can file a consumer case praying for crediting the deducted money without your permission and you may further claim compensation of Rs.50000/- causing harassment and mental agony. You may further claim for Interest on the debited money till realisation as well as cost of the proceedings (Case).

It is a fit case for consumer under the purview of consumer protection Act.
