Its called survivorship certificate.
A certificate of survivorship is used to establish the descent of property after someone has died. Laws regarding certificates of survivorship vary by jurisdiction.

it takes approx 2 months to get it.
you apply for it in sdm's office in your jurisdiction.

after applying, they will come for verification.

if everything is fine you get it after one month of verification.

what and how do they verify? i am told by someone that i'll hv to apply in district court for this certi. court will then notify in newspapers to wait for no contest on this claim and then it shall be given in 5-6 months. location is of kanpur, uttar pradesh. also please tell, whether in case of contest over my claim for certi. my house which is an earned property by my deceased father, shall also be a subject of contest along with his funds etc. ???

If the factory officials denied you to pay the sum left by your father then you can file a succession certificate case before the district delegate having jurisdiction. It will take 5 to 6 months to get order. Prior to filing of the same you must consult with a advocate in details cause I cannot advice you without seeing the documents and without knowing about the money and shares, if any, left by your father in different officials. All money, shares, etc etc left by your father can be claimed after getting succession certificate.
