Consumer and information technology
« on: February 09, 2016, 10:35:08 PM »
Hi and greetings to all the readers.

I am an Internet subscriber. Google search engine is supporting certain websites which are hosting defamatory comments against me. I reported the matter to cyber crime. They approached google to provide information about the said website but google refused to provide information. Cyber crime closed the complaint saying that in  view of scraping of section 66A of information technology it is not able to register any case. Whether any body can guide me on the course of  that I can adopt to (1) have the matter deleted; (2) how to obtain the ownership details of website hosting such defamatory comments; (3) whether I am covered  in the definition of consumer with respect to google in view of my being Internet subscriber. Please quote the relevant law or case law to address this preposition.
Thanks in anticipation

You are supposed to give details of those links I google. As print outs to google administration that would solve the problem.

Else file an application in court directing google to de list those links as well as those websites.

Sec 66A of IT is scrapped. but not laws of defamation.
You can file for defamation against google and others using options available in Criminal Procedure code. file a complaint in the court directly which will then ask police to investigate.
