Electricity bill in joint family
« on: April 29, 2016, 11:25:16 PM »
My family and my brother's family live in the s@me house. We both have seperate rooms and a common hall and kitchen.
I have been paying electricity bill and water bill for the last 8 years and my brother doesn't give his fair share.
I have asked him but he simply says NO.
If i don't pay electricity will be cut and I can't di that.

What legal recourse can I take to force him to pay last 8 year debt and future bill.

Dear Sir,

you may get a separate electricity connection in the same house i think. Or disconnect his part and area of electricity.

Seperate electricity connection require 2 seperate kitchens i think.
If i cut his connection he'll cut my connection when we are not home.
There is no end to it.

It is an obligatory situation. So you have to ask for partition of joint property mutually and amicably, then you can make a separate electricity meter. It is best option you have
