In your situation, court will not pass any judgment in respect of your wife's alimony rather in favour of your child. If your wife is asking for maintenance of your child then it is a good ground to take back the custody of the child, subject to the age, welfare and wish of child. It is the view of Supreme Court that if a mother is having custody of a child and she is working as well as also asking for maintenance of her child from her husband, then it is absolutely clear that neither mother is able to care the child physically nor financially.

Anyway, please defend your case properly and several citations are prevailing in this regard some are in your favour and some are in your against. Bur from my experience I will say court may not pass any order in favour of your wife's maintenance rather in favour of your child but if you defend your case with your advocate's excellence then there is high probabilities of order directing both mother and father to maintain jointly. You should cross examine your wife for her details of alimony.
