Section 9 is under hindu marriage act for restitution of conjugal rights. Where one spouse files a case against another spouse to join their company.

Section 24 is interim maintenance application which can be only filed in Section 9 or any other petition pending under hindu marriage act 1955.

As you have not mentioned under which act those sections are it is just a guessing. Anyway in addition to above Section 24 under SM act it is a petition for declaring the marriage is void.

Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act entitles a husband to file a petition for restitute of conjugal rights; the non-execution of decree, if passed, by the wife will entitle the husband to seek divorce.

Under Section 24 of the Act of 1955, an order of maintenance is only pendentelite proceedings. There are no rigid rules or laws of universal applications, which have to be adhered to while disposing of an application filed under section 24 of the Act of 1955. Here each case has to be adjudicated by the judge, Family Court on its merit. Wide and flexible powers has been given to the judge, Family Court to mould a relief as he think fit in the interest of justice
