appointment letter does not provide option to reject
« on: July 11, 2016, 10:41:04 AM »
Hi Members,
I was recruited by Collabera to work at their client location BNP paribas, 2 days before the date of joining I rejected the offer but the collabera hr pleaded me to join atleast one day else he will lose his job. I felt pity on him and attended for a day, I did not sign any code of conduct forms, legal agreement or any bond papers, and I signed only offer letter(not appointment letter). couple of days after this mess up, I received their appointment letter which was asked to take print out, sign and scan and send it. It had all the terms and condition and that the job is a probationary one for 6 months and no notice period for 6 months. But there was a check point in that appoint ment letter, after mentioning all the legal terms and conditions, they have mentioned that "..The terms and conditions of the appointment letter are deemed to be accepted by you, if Collabera does not receive the signed copy of the appointment letter from you within 7 working days.." Now even if I ignore the mail am I forced to join them. I send a reply in gmail that I reject the offer. kindly help me across it. can they take legal action against me? (eventhough I did not sign any documents)

Immediately communicate with the company stating that you are rejecting their offer letter either through hard copy sent through registered post or through official email or both.

It is important to have documents with you so that you can prove that you have rejected the offer and intimated them if can legal dispute is raised in future.
