Keeping both surname after marriage
« on: July 21, 2016, 09:49:17 PM »

Hi Experts,

I am Sujata Bhargav. I am recently married and I dont want to keep my husbands name as middle name. I just want to add his surname after my full name like Sujata Bhargav Shah. I want to know will this in any way become a hurdle in case of becoming nominee for  my husband's policies or property or any other matter in the future. Please help me urgently.

Dear Sujata,

There won't be any problem for anything in future as you have stated.

There is no bar to add your husband's surname after your full name which you have been using since born. When question of nominee arises then I will point you out to ask your husband to submit afresh application for Nominee with your full name including your husband's surname.

In respect of inheritance, I would like to say that this is the best time to take an oath on affidavit about your Full name including husband's surname and make a paper publication.
