Cash gift deed
« on: December 03, 2016, 12:25:45 AM »
I would like to give some cash as a gift to my mother . What is the procedure to make monetary/cash gift deed? Does it require to be on stamp paper or plain paper would be sufficient. Please advice on correct and legal procedure to make cash gift and also where to approach for the same.

Right now you cannot gift cash with old denomination rather new denomination and mere giving of new denomination to your mother as Gift is enough. No need for any paper work.....

Hi Mr. Amarnath,

Thanks a lot for your response. Actually my question is little confusing. By saying "cash gift" it doesn't mean I want to pay my mother in cash/currencies. Actually I will only pay through Online transfer to her account.
Here I only mean monetary gift and cash means giving money as gift which will be purely through my account to her account via online NEFT transfer.
Do I need to make gift deed in this case.

Thanks,
Ashish.
