Correction deed

Hi i have percahsed a flat a year ago,recently going through the docs i found the floor no is wrong intead of 2 its 3,so went for correction deed at the time teh builders lawyer notified teh the buikding name is also different it should be Rajtara complex buts its Rajtara heights now he says that i need to pay teh stamp duty again, i undestandteh floor no. is my mistake ad i am ready to pay the charges for that but the name of teh building is not my fault as teh documents were prepared by the builders lawyer what is a way out please help

The Lawyer who told you to pay stamp duty absolutely rubbish. Either he is fooling you or he does not know the legal procedure. Just ask your vendors and confirming party (if any) to execute a Deed of Declaration and register it before the same Registrar's office where original deed was registered. It will be minimal cost.

Thank you so much.

We went to the registrar's Office for the correction deed,that time he mentioned as the floor and building name is changed the property is all together different so it can't be done.

later the lawyer mentioned that if you have to do so you have to pay stamp duty for it...

you mentioned  'Deed of Declaration' is it correction deed or a new deed altogether...

Deed of declaration will be a separate deed and it will be part of Deed of Sale
