Police Station Jurisdiction for giving complaint
« on: October 15, 2018, 09:12:56 AM »
I have police station Jurisdiction doubt

I live in district-husb.  I married a girl living in district-wife.  wife complaint in women police station located in district-wife and got seperated.  I have been trying to rejoin with her.  Meanwhile I heard that a boy living in district-boy has enticed my wife.

I want to give complaint against this boy under section 498 for enticing a married women (since 497 is scrapped)
1) Since the complaint is against the boy, is it ok to give complaint in police station near boy's house in district-boy?
2) give complaint in Law & order, crime or in women police station?

Dear Sir,

You have lodge complaint where the girl was enticed. Further the relevant section is reproduced below:
===========================================================================
Section 498 in The Indian Penal Code
498. Enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a married woman.—Whoever takes or entices away any woman who is and whom he knows or has reason to believe to be the wife of any other man, from that man, or from any person having the care of her on behalf of that man, with intent that she may have illicit intercourse with any person, or conceals or detains with that intent any such woman, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
