My name is Shagun Vats DSK, pursuing BA LLB (H) and currently in my 5 semester at Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida. I reside in Greater Noida with my family. My home place is Prayagraj and my schooling was completed from Maharshi Patanjali Vidya Mandir School, Teliyarganj, Prayagraj. My hobbies generally are to read books and listen music and sometimes sing also. My journey to law as a career started from very little age as my father was working in an administrative field and I saw the powers that are used to serve the public and all the powers go through a legal channel in which there are many acts and provisions. But sometimes I really got confused by seeing something which was according to me was not correct but legally it was totally fine. So, to clear all my concepts I chose Law as my career as well as profession to help the neglected people of the society or those who cannot get legal aid. I completed my Research Paper on the topic Dowry Death, which is currently a huge problem and it is followed since a long time and day by day it�s getting more and more terrible and serious. As I have three elder sisters in which two are married, I saw the struggle that my parents face whenever they visited any family for marriage of my sisters. The groom side demanded whatever came to their mind for dowry as my parents money was hanging at a tree. By seeing all this I thought that what problem parents have to face when their daughters are killed or murdered for dowry. Then I thought to select this as my research topic and to find out the provisions related to dowry death and whether they are sufficient enough to stop this type of crimes prevailing in our society. At last I want to say that my journey to this topic will continue forward and I will try my best to implement the legislations in our country as soon as I complete my under graduation.
