A first law student in Amity Law School, Noida. I have done my schooling from M.P Birla Foundation H.S School in Kolkata. I�m a resident in Kolkata. I scored 86.4% in my class 10 board exams & 84% in my class 12 exams. I was the member of the student council of my school. I�m a member of the Legal Aid & Literacy Club of my law school.

I want to be an independent woman lawyer who deals with criminal cases against men, women & children harassment & assaults.

I have participated in debates competitions, drama competitions, basketball games & fashion shows. I have earned 2 medals in shot put competitions & basketball competitions & 1 medal in debate (for the topic) & drama competitions in my school life.

Currently, I�m doing a virtual internship in a law firm Called S. Bhambri & Associates in Delhi & I�m the Student Partner in an organization called The Amikus Qriae. I have done a certificate course in ADR & Mediation.

I wrote a paper on the �Dowry System In The Indian Society� because I feel that marriage should be a two-way thing. In simpler terms, it�s basically the bride�s family is paying a certain amount of money or jewellery to the groom�s family, in order to get married. Our society is changing they don�t really ask for money directly they want many gifts & presents in the �shagun� given in the weddings. It happens in a lot of high society families as well where people are educated.

This practice has to end & women should know about their rights regarding the same. Some women are tortured by their husb& & their in- laws in order the get money from the girl�s family. In some cases, women die because of the torture they suffer. Here, in my research paper I have mentioned several laws & acts which provides remedies & legal actions against their husbands & his relatives.
